The role:
The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment and support of the underlying infrastructure to support applications across a range of customer projects and core development.  Building infrastructure tools, automating the system/application deployment pipeline, and working with development teams to help engineer scalable software, that improve the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions across build engineering, cloud migrations, containerisation and configuration management practices
  • Design innovative solutions and processes that leverage automation and improve process efficiencies
  • Ensure all components are built to provide quality, security, scalability, stability, efficiency and reliability
  • Build/Configure and deployment of software releases
  • Manage production release schedules
  • Recommend and implement DevOps practices which are sustainable and considered the best fit.
  • Responsible for CI/CD process implementation
  • Perform and deploy builds for various environments such as QA, Integration, UAT and production environments
  • Disaster Recovery
  • Take ownership of Backup/Restore
Skills Required:
  • Problem Solving - demonstrated experience performing analysis, diagnosis and resolution of complex server and application-based problems
  • Design and implement HA systems, monitoring availability and capacity thresholds
  • Strong enterprise Linux system management and system security
  • System Administration and IT Support - Windows Server, Active Directory support
  • Hands-on experience with network switches, routers, firewall configuration and security.
  • Experience with virtualisation, preferably VMWare
  • Experience with enterprise hardware
  • Excellent skills with CI/CD Releases and Pipelines - Jenkins preferred
  • Experience building and supporting cloud-based environments such as AWS, and exposure to AWS Security
  • Containerization – Docker & Kubernetes
  • Configuration management technologies such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef or Saltstack
  • Experience with modern stacks – ie Java, Python, or C#
  • MySQL and MSSQL admin experience
  • Application and Web Server skills i.e. Tomcat, Apache, nginx, etc
  • GIT
