About the Role

The Senior Manager Property, Environment and Planning (SMPEP) assists in the management of Port of Newcastle’s (PON) Property, Environment and Planning (PEP) function.
The SMPEP will have carriage of Port of Newcastle’s day-to-day PEP activities with minimal supervision in these areas and provide significant input at a strategic level, including managing PON’s existing property portfolio, assisting in the negotiation and documentation of property business development opportunities, developing PON’s planning and environment strategies, processes and systems and implementing PON’s property and environmental compliance programs.
The SMPEP will lead strategic programs on behalf of the CCO, including growing PON’s revenue from its existing property activities and optimising PON’s new property arrangements. It is a highly visible and interactive role that requires a high level of leadership, communication and influencing skills.

At its core, this role will require an experienced, intelligent and finessed senior manager to sensibly navigate a complex range of stakeholders in a pressurised environment. 

About the Successful Candidate

In order for you to receive a call regarding this role, it is essential that you possess the following:
  • A Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Commerce, Law, Property etc.)
  • At least 10 years of senior management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to grow property revenues, preferably in connection with large scale infrastructure or complex industrial tendency portfolios
  • Experience in planning and implementing land use strategy
  • Highly developed negotiating and influencing skills
  • Fluency in reviewing and interpreting financial statements and models
  • Ability to cultivate productive relationships with customers, Government authorities, investors and other stakeholders.
